One of China's biggest fashion events has kicked off in Shanghai.
More than 45 of the biggest clothing brands will showcase their 2015 autumn-winter collections at Shanghai Fashion Week.
The event, which got under way on Tuesday afternoon with an opening forum attended by hundreds of fashion industry insiders, is expected to attract a huge crowd of fashionistas.
It is taking place at Taiping Lake in Xintiandi. There will be catwalk shows and pop-up boutiques, plus a number of forums and lectures aimed at encouraging communication between designers, buyers and the public.
Chinese fashion designers will discuss the progress they are making in both international and domestic markets, giving the public a unique insight into what goes on behind the scenes away from the catwalk.
Gemma Williams, former curator of the Fashion Space Gallery at London College of Fashion, will be launching a new book, Fashion China, at the event. It focuses on the most influential designers working in the country today.
